From a career in nursing to ministry, coaching, and education, I have been blessed as the Lord guided and directed me on my journey.
In ministry, I received a B.S. degree in Ministerial Studies from Logos Bible College, served as associate pastor, and was ordained into the ministry.
I began teaching approximately twenty years ago, and have served in multiple capacities from the classroom to administration as High School Coordinator, to my current position as Powerline Director. Teaching English for many years has enabled me to see young people develop the reading and writing skills that will benefit them for a lifetime. Throughout the years, I have been blessed to be honored twice as Teacher of the Year.
I coached multiple sports for several years. During that time, our teams won many district Championships in volleyball, basketball and track, three National Basketball Championships, were basketball State Runner-Up in TAPPS, and I was selected to coach the All-Star Basketball Team. However, the greatest rewards were the relationships with the girls I coached. Every practice and competition brought many challenges that I watched the girls meet and overcome.
I am also the helpmate of my wonderful and talented husband, Larry; mother to a great daughter and son; and "Nanny" to three of the most delightful grandchildren imaginable!
As I enter my eleventh year with River City Christian School, I am excited about the wonderful experiences, and yes, even the challenges that I will be able to share with the students. There are very few things in life more exciting than watching as a young person accomplishes what he had thought was impossible.
